How to verify a CCB license in Oregon

Step-by-step on checking any Oregon contractor's CCB license, why it matters, and what the lookup actually tells you.

Every legitimate construction contractor in Oregon is licensed by the Construction Contractors Board (CCB). Hiring an unlicensed contractor is one of the easiest ways to lose money on a project. Verifying a license takes two minutes.

The lookup

Go to the Oregon CCB website and use the License Search. Enter the contractor's license number (every legitimate contractor lists it on their truck, their business card, their website, and their quotes) or the business name. The search returns license status, bond information, insurance status, and any complaint history.

What to check

Four things on every verification:

  • License is Active (not Expired, Suspended, or Inactive)
  • Bond is in place and the bond amount fits the size of your project
  • Liability insurance is current
  • No unresolved complaints in the last 24 months

Our CCB number is 258667. You can look us up at the Oregon CCB website right now. The number is on every quote we write, the bottom of every page of this website, and the side of every truck we drive.
