Sidewalks and exterior steps are small jobs that go wrong easily. A walkway that holds standing water becomes a moss patch in October. Steps that are out of code become a liability. We pour both to spec, with the right joints, the right slope, and a finish that handles foot traffic for decades.
City-spec public sidewalks
If you are replacing a public sidewalk in Roseburg, Sutherlin, or another incorporated city, the spec is set by the city: four-foot or five-foot width, four-inch thickness, six inches at driveway approaches, scored panels at standard intervals. We pull the permit when required and we know the inspector.
Exterior steps and porches
Exterior step risers and runs are code-driven. Rise between four and seven and three-quarter inches, run at least eleven inches, consistent within the flight. We build the forms to those numbers exactly and we pour with the right reinforcement for the porch landing.
Garden walkways and approaches
Walkways from a driveway to a front door, through a yard, around a deck. Three to four feet wide is typical, four-inch slab, broom or stamped finish, scored every five feet for crack control.
